Danucera Diaries
Entry 33: Olivia Stutz
Tell us more about yourself…
I am an art advisor and interior designer working between New York City and London. Having recently relocated to London, my practice is now expanding rapidly across the U.K. My work is driven by a deep appreciation for art, architecture, and considered interiors, with an emphasis on thoughtful curation and lasting quality. I approach projects with a high level of selectivity and precision across all aspects of my life, and Danucera is one of the few skincare brands that meets that standard.
In design, what does “going back to basics” mean to you right now? Any rules you’re returning to?
What comes to mind is how I start a new project. You go into a new space and take everything out and look at it holistically. No paint, no furniture. Then adding pieces as I see fit. In design, like skincare, sometimes less really is more.
How do you personalize the Danucera 5-step routine depending on your schedule, travel, or how your skin feels that day?
In terms of my skin, I am very sensitive, so I always start slow with new skincare products. I always follow “doctor’s orders” when it comes to skincare, so I follow the Dancuera 5-Step Method. For the Cerabalm, I add water to remove makeup. I can’t live without a toner, it’s what makes my skin actually feel clean! Then, lots of Cream Supreme for that glazed donut look, and Iconic Eye for any wrinkles around the eyes.
Q: What’s the first thing you do to reset a space when it feels off, and how is that similar to resetting your skin?
Olivia: "The first step is always research. I take time to understand the home or building — when it was constructed, how it was meant to function — and, just as importantly, the person living in it. Before making any decisions, I treat the project as a case study, often revisiting old design books and archival references to ground the space in context. It’s similar to resetting your skin: you strip everything back, focus on fundamentals, and rebuild thoughtfully rather than reactively."
Q: Do you approach skincare like you approach a space…layering, balancing, refining? How does that show up in your routine?
Olivia: "Definitely layering. Like design, there are systems in place to keep things running smoothly. Like in skincare, I try to keep it simple and consistent. I find that when I veer and do all these crazy things, it’s not great for my skin."
Q: What does “renewal” look like for you in the city?
Olivia: "In New York, about a year and a half or two years ago, I really started slowing down with everything. Just taking my time, whether it’s breathing or being more intentional day to day. Incorporating fitness was such a big player for my health, my skin, how I approach relationships, how I approach my life, and my business.
The breathing exercises and the commitment to working out, literally three times a week, were so crucial for me to feel healthy and to reset. When I know I’m doing those things, that’s when everything is working in my life, and my skin looks good. It’s about taking things slow."
Q; Which Danucera product feels most “treatment room” to you, and what do you notice when you do it consistently?
Olivia: "The Cerabalm, without question. It’s truly one of a kind—something you reach for when you want to properly treat yourself. If I have an extra thirty minutes at night, I’ll use it on my fiancé (he secretly loves skincare). After that, it has to be the Cream Supremee. It feels incredibly luxurious, and after researching the ingredients, I was genuinely impressed—it’s exceptional & advanced."
Q: What is your current skincare goal?
Olivia: "I’m just starting to plan my wedding. I got engaged recently and it’s a fun thing that’s taken over my life! Now I’m starting to think about all of the products and treatments I can incorporate before my big day!"
