Q&A with Alex Kemp, Co-founder of Libbie Loup Hospitality and Executive Chef of My Loup
Tell us a little about yourself? My name is Alex Kemp. I am the chef of My Loup and co-owner of Libbie Loup Hospitality. I am also a father to my beautiful daughter, Evie, and puppy, Tootsie.
Which is your favorite Danucera product and why?
I love the Danucera D22 Tonic because it is perfect for my skin. Sometimes skincare products make my skin break out but this is the perfect combination.
Why do you choose Danucera for your skincare routine?
Being a chef, I am very ingredient driven. Everything begins with our sourcing and I think that's something Danucera does a great job of — using super high quality, sustainable ingredients.

Between long hours in a kitchen and sleepless nights with a baby, how do you make time to look after your skin and mental well-being??
As I get older, I am finding myself taking more and more time and pride in my health and fitness. Skincare is quickly rising to the top of my list. If I am moisturized and glowing, it gives me the confidence to have a successful day.
Q: As a girl dad, what’s one value or lesson you hope to instill in your daughter about self-care and confidence?
Being a girl dad is the best. I can't wait to teach Evie about the importance of self care. It is very hard to be the best version of oneself if you do not feel good on the inside and outside. Keeping an active lifestyle and maintaining moisturized, healthy-looking skin is an easy and important thing to do at home in order to tackle all the crazy stuff that pops up during the day!
Q: Have you found any fun ways to incorporate your daughter into the kitchen or culinary world, even at this young age?
Evie is at the stage where she is just starting to soak up all her surroundings. I have really found my happy place in playing and cooking with her. Even though I do not have the best voice, she loves it when I sing to her in the kitchen.
What’s one small moment you’ve shared with your daughter recently that’s made all the chaos worth it?
We are currently going through a very tough sleep regression phase. Evie will wake up almost every hour on the hour. Sometimes the stress gets to me but once I wake up at 6am and take her down to the kitchen to feed her, she gives me the biggest, cutest smile and all of my frustrations disappear.
Q:If your skin could send you a Father’s Day card, what would it say?
It would thank me for taking my new skincare routine to a whole new level. It is never too late to start.
Q: Who is a strong male role model or mentor that you look up to?
One strong male role model I look up to is my wife's father. I have always been impressed by how he balanced working a very demanding job, having 4 children and being present, while also taking care of his physical and mental health. Not everyone can do it! He is the perfect role model.
