Danucera Diaries

Entry 18:  Asia Milia Ware

Tell us a little about yourself? I was born and raised in New York, it's definitely a part of my personality. I'm currently the beauty editor at New York Magazine's the Cut, I live and breathe beauty. I love to smell great, have glowing skin and an artsy manicure.

Which is your favorite Danucera product and why? Recently the body oil because it's so lightweight but has been keeping my skin looking beyond lovely from the pool to my walks. It also doesn't transfer which is an issue I have with a lot of body oils.

Why do you choose Danucera for your skincare routine? It's efficacious skincare that I can trust. Rescue Spa is one of my favorites in the city, I always leave with the most luminous skin that the sun bounces off of, I get that feeling on-the-go from the Danucera products. Who wouldn't want to always look like they just walked out of Rescue?

Q: How do you keep your skin glowing while traveling?
Asia: My holy grail combo this past trip to keeping my skin glowing was the Danucera body butter and oil. The combo left a radiance on my skin that lasted all day. To complete the glow I use an SPF, my obsession is Caudalie's Sun Water with SPF 50 that can only be found in European pharmacies because the US has horrible FDA regulations around sunscreen.

Q: Tell us about your trip! Where are you going, what made you choose that place, who are you with etc.
Asia: I went to Lisbon, Portugal with my best friend. It was her 30th birthday and she wanted to go somewhere neither of us have ever been. We've never done a Europe trip together, this was the first and the absolute best. We had a perfect balance of lounging around, trying amazing food (we were obsessed with the garlic shrimp), strolling the very rocky Lisbon roads, bonding over gelato and more.

Q: When you are on a trip-what's the vibe? Are you a planner? Go with the flow?
Asia: Because I travel so much for work and I'm always on an itinerary, I prefer to just go with the flow and go off of vibes. I know everyone isn't like that so how I travel changes based off of who I'm with, but I love a dilly dally trip because it's rare that I get to do that and allow myself to JUST BE while traveling.

Q: What is your favorite part about being in a new place/experiencing a different culture?

Asia: "Just making new memories. I always bring a new fragrance while on a trip so when I'm back home and I smell it, it always brings me back to the memories of being in that place. I also love trying new foods while traveling."

Q: After being in Portugal, what are your top recs for anyone visiting?

Asia: "I found a fragrance atelier, Next Memory, exclusive to Lisbon. There was a scent trail that lured me into the shop. There were fragrances, candles, layering balms and more scent products. I left with a warm and spicy candle, Brown Coffee over Patchouli and my best friend got a Pastel de Nata candle, inspired by the popular Portugal pastry. My favorite restaurant we ate at was Baixamar. It was a scorching hot day and we sat outside sipping Aperol Spritz and slurping down pasta. I'm still thinking about the seafood squid ink linguine I had."

Q: The best part of coming home is?

Asia: "Seeing my boyfriend and getting back into my gym routine."
