Entry 11: Kia Goosby
Danucera Diaries
This May, we’re celebrating the timeless bond between mothers and daughters through the story of Kia and Linda, a mother-daughter duo whose connection goes far beyond skincare. Kia, a 38-year-old New Yorker with a passion for art and music, carries the lessons of kindness, empathy, and independence taught by her mother. Linda, 75, a lifelong advocate of compassion and curiosity, instilled in Kia the importance of nurturing both inner and outer beauty.
Together, they share simple, meaningful moments whether it's spa days or life lessons about faith, honesty, and the power of natural beauty. Their story reminds us that true beauty is found in the love, wisdom, and rituals passed down through generations.

"I love how easy these products are to use and how they makemy skin feel once I am done with my daily routine."

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Kia: - I am 38 years old, originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but have
been living in New York City for 10 years. I am a lover of art and
music, primarily more than fashion (and somehow I ended up with a
career in fashion). I believe in the good of people, having kindness
and empathy for others is paramount, showing up for the people I
love, and living a life with humility. My mother taught me to march to
the beat of your own drum and to be a productive citizen in this world.
Linda:- I am 75 years old, originally from Burlington, North Carolina,
but have been living in Atlanta, Georgia for 40 years. I am an
individual who cherishes the little moments in life and finds joy in the
beauty that surrounds me. My interests span across various fields,
from art and literature to science and technology. Compassion and
empathy are at the core of my being, guiding my interactions and
relationships with others. I believe in the power of kindness and strive
to make a positive impact in the lives of those I encounter.
"They are just great products with clean and simple ingredients."
- Linda -
Q: Which is your favorite Danucera product and why?
Kia: I actually have two favorite Danucera products: the Cerabalm
and the Iconic Eye. The Cerabalm is just the best product ever and
the most perfect way to cleanse your face while also keeping it moisturized.
I simply love the texture and the way it makes my skin feel. The Iconic
Eye, is probably the most genius products created with its easy application and the
gold roller tip is the best.
Linda: - I love the Cream Supreme for how it absorbs into my skin and helps it to stay moisturized throughout the day.
Q: Why do you choose Danucera for your skincare routine?
Kia: I love how easy these products are to use and how they make
my skin feel once I am done with my daily routine.
Linda: They are just great products with clean and simple ingredients.
Q: What’s one beauty lesson you’ve learned from each other?
Kia:
Drink lots of water.
Linda: Use SPF and keeping your skin moisturized and hydrated is the key in maintaining beautiful and healthy skin.

Q: What's your favorite thing about your mom/daughter's natural beauty?
Kia:I love how beautifully my mom has aged. She’s 75 and her skin
is so clear, even, and no signs of wrinkles! It’s something I have to look forward to!
Linda: Her beautiful brown skin, her hair, her kindness, and her smile.

Q: How do you define beauty?
Kia: Beauty is only skin deep (yeah, yeah, yeah!)
Linda: Beauty is an ever-evolving concept that goes beyond physical
appearance. It encompasses the grace and strength of character, the warmth and kindness reflected in one's demeanor, and the ability to inspire and uplift others. True beauty is found in the authenticity of one's soul, the courage to be oneself, and the compassion extended towards others. It transcends age, race, and gender, embracing the uniqueness of every individual.
Q: Is there a skincare or beauty ritual you always do together?
Kia: We love going to the spa for massages or to get manicures and
pedicures at Jin Soon, which is our favorite place in NYC.
Q: What’s one thing you’ve learned from each other that has nothing to
do with skincare but is something you always hold with you?
Kia: At all times, trust in the Lord and keep the faith.
Linda: Always be honest and communicate the truth.
Kia and Linda’s story is a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful beauty rituals are the ones rooted in connection, care, and legacy. As we celebrate mothers this May, we honor the quiet strength, shared wisdom, and everyday moments that shape who we are. Through generations, beauty becomes more than skin deep, it becomes a bond.
